With TalkTalk facing a fine of up to 7 million pounds, how secure is your business?

You’ve worked hard to build your business and make it a success. You’re probably using a range of IT equipment and using the internet to advertise your business and sell online.

The internet brings huge business opportunities and benefits, but it also brings risks. Every day there are cyber attacks on UK companies like yours, attempting to steal your information and money, or disrupt your business. It is increasingly important to manage these risks to take advantage of the internet whilst protecting your business.

There has definitely been a rise in cybercrime in recent years and it’s latest victim has been all over the news this week. TalkTalk is facing increasing criticism after belatedly admitting it was the victim of a “significant and sustained” cyber-attack that has led to the theft of the credit card and bank details of up to 4 million customers.  There is talk of a fine of 7 million pounds for this loss of data.

Your employees are your frontline defence against cybercrime.

To prevent cybercrime affecting your business then education of your staff is paramount. Educating staff about security will not only help them to recognise possible risks and vulnerabilities but also help organisations identify new threats from the feedback they receive from a more alert workforce.

Protect the daily transmissions from your business by equipping your staff with the CompTIA Security+ certificationRecognised in over 147 countries, CompTIA Security+ is approved by the U.S. Department of Defence to meet 8570.01-M and 8140 technical and management directives, and is compliant with government regulations under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

The CompTIA Security+ curriculum covers many areas of network security, including cloud security, encryption, security protocols, system security and network infrastructure.

Don’t let the next business to be hit by hackers be yours.
